Introducing Tammy Gur, a Jerusalem-born artist whose work explores themes of the human form, emotional states, and relationships. Tammy's drawings are the product of intense observation of people. Her style has developed over a period of 20 years. Tammy's primary medium is oil pastel on paper. She often uses vintage or contemporary printed publications as a backdrop to the figures. Text integrated into the compositions both assigns meaning to the figure and adds texture to the hand-drawn marks.

Tammy’s enquiry into the human form is influenced by her work as a digital graphic designer in the domain of News, and by her interest in typography. In addition, her work often focuses on portraying strong female subjects. Her arresting portraits contrast the natural with the man-made, the past, with the present. Tammy lives and works in London where her art has been exhibited in several galleries.
